    About This Topic

    International Open Data Hackathon Day is an annual event in which citizens around the world gather to write applications, liberate data, create visualizations and publish analyses using open public data to show support for and encourage the adoption of open data policies by the world's local, regional and national governments.

    This topic comprises published datasets and related applications that were collected, used, cleaned up, and/or built during HackFest 2011, which occurred December 3, 2011.

    Hi David

    Does the data provided by ICBC include the type of crashi.e. vehicle driver making right turn hitting cyclist. Would be helpful
    when discussing safety concerns with city transportaion engineers.

    Does ICBC have similar data for auto/auto and auto/ped collisions? It's fine if auto/auto includes single-vehicle collisions -- drunk drivers smashing into trees or dozing drivers heading off cliffs

    Hi Eric,

    ICBC will have similar data for the other types of data you mentioned. They don't have an open data portal (sadly) but you can write them and request the data (that's what I did). I'm sure you can ask for data prior to 2006 as well - I just asked for 5 years worth of data.

    I've got a pretty good in there so can ask for more, or can try to connect with the right people.

    hey deaves (and congrats btw), I find it hard to believe icbc doesn't have data before 2006 on this. Was this released as a trial?
