About this Dataroom
This dataset is a snapshot CSV version* of activity information shared by international aid donors sharing data as part of the International Aid Transparency Initiative. It includes details of the donors, the projects they have committed funds to or funded, and includes details of documents, transactions and categories relating to those projects.
Version 2: Based on feedback we've simplified the format of the data being shared to just include some of the key facts about projects.
You can find out more about the reasons for the International Aid Transparency Initiative at http://www.aidtransparency.net.
The raw data is accessible through http://www.iatiregistry.org where you will always find a list of the most recently updated IATI files, available in the XML file format. The meaning of different sections of the data files can be found by exploring the documentation at http://www.iatistandard.org.
Because XML does not easily fit into table forms, we have flattened this data out with one row for each aid project activity, and where there are multiple categories, transactions or other values for an activity, separating these with ';' semicolons in the table cells. We did this using the IATI Explorer Toolkit which can be found at http://tools.aidinfolabs.org/query/ and which provides a range of tools for working with this data. You can find other ideas for working with IATI data at http://www.aidinfolabs.org.

Oh oh — Tim, stay tuned: we've got a new release pending for our API that will increase its capabilities dramatically. Coming soon, will keep you posted on this!
The updated version tries to simplify things so that only key summaries of projects are displayed. I've included a URL to a visual representation of each project.
Thanks for following the IATI Data. All thoughts on how we can make it more useful, or possible things that it could be used for really welcome :)
Hey Tim! Looks like your full version is up. I just downloaded a 23MB file from your latest version. Maybe you should edit the overview.
Well spotted. Forgot I had that note there. I've just updated the description.
IATI Data: Activities » Index
Hey all: this copy of the data is a little old now (we've just got Dutch development data into the main IATI supply). I'll work soon on exploring the Buzz data API so we can keep the dataset here up to date....
I can also use that as an opportunity to improve the data - so if you have ideas for what could be better in how this data is presented I'd love to hear them...
