hey @deaves , I cloned this, I'm going to go through and for the "sexiest" datasets listed, I'm going to come up with tweet-length project proposals of what can be done with them. Would that help?
Also, if you decide to upload some data, don't worry, if you choose the "Private" option it will be completely private until you decide to change it to "Public."
Hey Jim, nice to see you on here :) Just FYI, if you look up at the top of your screen, you'll see "Public Datasets", which shows you everything public that's been uploaded to BD (most recent at the top), "Topics" (ie: general subject pages with which data sets are tagged), "Tasks" (data sets in which the creators have asked for community help) and "Messages" (which you can use to send private messages directly to others). You can also use the search box to look for specific data. Have fun!
about time! :D
How can I rename a data set?
Hey! you made it! :D Glad you decided to check us out. Hope you have fun with our contest, eh! If you have any questions, just ping me.
Well, hello, there! Planning on competing in our Best City Contest? We're realizing it's actually quite fun to play around with different viz ideas publicly in the leadup to the deadline. ... :D @japhycron, @arcald and @dsparks have already posted some pretty neat stuff!
Pssst - make sure you tag your clones with the "Best City Contest" topic if you plan to submit an entry :) And also — hi! Welcome to BuzzData!
Thanks for the welcome! I, for one, think this is a great idea. A social network for data? Made of win. Totally.
Aw yeah :) And there's collaborative version control for your data too, check it out: http://buzzdata.com/faq/getting-started
Glad to see you on here — be sure to check out what other open city groups like Vancouver and Toronto are sharing on the site!
