About this Dataroom
Does Drumming qualify as a sport? Are drummers more fit than other musicians? Recently I recorded my heart rate while playing a number rock songs. I used a Garmin heart monitor with a Digi-Fit transceiver input to my IPhone. I also recorded the maximum decibel (dB) reading during each performance with a Wohler loudness monitor.
The Method was as follow:
1 - Establish normal resting heart rate 2 - Play song for 300 seconds on full tilt. This means play as loudly as I can while still executing the song properly. 3 - Note maximum loudness in dB using a sound meter 4 - Apologize to neighbours and wife 5 - Have hearing damage assessed 6 - Repeat

If you are a drummer and have your own data to add, then make a clone and give it a shot
Me too!
My favorite part about this dataset (aside from it's general awesomeness) is that your method indicates these steps:
4 - Apologize to neighbours and wife
5 - Have hearing damage assessed
Thanks ! I was surprised how high the sound levels get. Hearing damage starts at 130db apparently.
THIS IS AWESOME!! You HAVE to test heart rate with other songs. But I think you should do: 1) Compare different songs by the same artist, and 2) Compare the same song by different artists, ie: original versus covers. THAT would be cool!
