About this Dataroom
Using an access-to-information request, Global News obtained records showing the breed, name and postal code of all of Vancouver’s 27,166 licenced dogs, and our analysis gives a unique insight into urban life. We cleaned up the data to an extent, removing out-of-town postal codes and merging redundant fields (eg. "Labrador retriever" with "Lab. retriever"). We've made the data available for download.
